Article A horizontal flow clean workbenchis a common purification equipment widely used in laboratory, pharmaceutical, electronic manufacturing and biological research fields. It provides a stable dust-free and sterile operating environment by forming continuous and uniform horizontal air flow inside the working area. Different from vertical flow purification equipment, its air supply mode brings unique usage characteristics and operation norms, which need to be followed strictly in daily application to ensure stable purification effect.
Before starting any operation with the equipment, 3 key preparation steps need to be completed in sequence to eliminate environmental interference. First, check the overall state of the working cavity to ensure no sundries, residual waste and unrelated articles are placed in the operating area. Second, turn on the equipment and keep it running for 10 to 15 minutes before formal operation, so that the internal air circulation can fully filter suspended particles in the cavity. Third, complete surface disinfection of the workbench with professional disinfection supplies, focusing on the operating table surface, internal side walls and air outlet positions, to reduce microbial residues in the working space.
In the formal operation process, standardized operating postures and placement rules directly affect the purification effect of the working area. Operators need to keep 20 to 30 centimeters of distance between their arms and the air outlet surface at all times, avoiding blocking the horizontal air flow channel. All experimental tools and operating samples should be placed in the middle area of the workbench, and no articles are allowed to stack within 10 centimeters of the air inlet and outlet. During continuous operation, operators should reduce frequent standing up, leaning forward and frequent crossing of arms, as irregular body movements will drive external air into the purification cavity and cause particle fluctuation. In addition, the number of operating articles should be controlled reasonably, and excessive stacking of tools and samples is not allowed to prevent affecting the uniformity of horizontal air flow.
The applicable operation types of horizontal flow clean workbenches have obvious scope limitations, which need to be clearly distinguished in daily use. The equipment is suitable for 4 conventional low-risk purification operations, including ordinary sample sorting, electronic component assembly, non-toxic reagent configuration and conventional biological sample observation. It is not applicable to operations involving volatile toxic gases, strong corrosive reagents, a large number of microbial fermentation cultures and high-risk sterile experiments. Such operations will not only damage the internal filtration structure of the equipment, but also cause potential safety hazards to operators due to the horizontal outward air supply mode.
Reasonable use of environmental matching conditions can further stabilize the operating effect of the clean workbench. The equipment is suitable for indoor environments with stable temperature and low dust concentration. It should be placed in a position 1 meter away from doors, windows and ventilation fans to avoid natural wind and convection air destroying the internal horizontal laminar flow state. No high-power heat-generating equipment shall be placed within 2 meters around the workbench, because continuous heat dissipation will cause air turbulence and reduce the purification stability of the operating cavity. Meanwhile, the indoor personnel flow should be controlled during operation, and too many people gathering around the equipment is not allowed.
After the daily operation is completed, standardized closing steps help maintain the long-term stable working state of the equipment. First, take out all samples, tools and residual wastes in the working cavity to keep the internal space empty and tidy. Second, carry out secondary surface cleaning and disinfection of the operating area to remove residual sample residues and microbial attachments. Third, keep the equipment running for 5 to 10 minutes after cleaning to completely discharge the polluted air in the cavity, and then turn off the equipment power. Finally, close the transparent baffle of the workbench to isolate external dust and pollutants.
